It was time.

After the passing of nearly three new moons, his journey would finally be complete. As he hurtled above the water of the Aegean at speeds that would make shooting stars die with envy, he thought back to when he realized that he must go on this quest or lose his mortality in an excruciatingly painful manner. Now, enduring trials no man would ever hope to face, he is nearing the end of his journey. Not too long ago the village shaman approached him with the news that made his bones freeze, even in the heat that would make Manila’s last heat wave look like a day in the North Pole. “Ever since you came to our village on the night of the moonflare,” said the shaman, “we knew that you were destined to do great things, such as were told in the prophecy. Now is the time that you fulfill that prophecy”.
